[ingodirectors] Inputs for Mid-Term Consultative Group Meeting in Quang Tri

Dear Colleagues:

The mid-term Consultative Group (CG) meeting will take place on 4-5 June in
Quang Tri. The focus will be on the following themes:

(1) Sustainable Poverty Reduction (SPR)
(2) Natural Disaster Risk Management (NDRM)

The four INGO Representatives at the CG meeting (currently directors from
CARE, Asia Foundation, Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation and Oxfam)
have discussed INGOs' participation at the upcoming event. Traditionally
the four INGO Representatives prepare talking points with a support of the
wider INGO community and relevant NGO Resource Centre's Working Groups.

Given the short time frame we will not be able to organize INGO Forum in
order to discuss the above themes with all country directors and/or
representatives. Therefore, we requested inputs from the Climate Change
Working Group and the Disaster Management Working Group. They will prepare
key messages for this CG meeting.

I believe that those INGOs which implement SPR and NDRM programmes already
have representatives involved in our Working Groups. However, if there are
specific messages or suggestions which you would like to share directly,
please email me before the end of this week. Note that our time at the CG
meeting will be limited to approximately 5 minutes per each theme. If you
would like to share your messages related to SPR or NDRM please send them
in a simple text format, preferably as bullet points.

Thank you in advance. I will circulate the final draft with our talking
points prior to the CG meeting.
