We are looking for committed, result-driven candidate for the position of Gender and Inclusive Conservation Advisor (50% WWF-Laos, 50% Asia-Pacific)
Major Function:
The Gender and Inclusive Conservation Advisor is primarily responsible for Gender Equity, Disability and Social Inclusion activities that support WWF conservation outcomes in the Asia Pacific region. Working in close collaboration with technical advisors, landscape managers and programme staff, the Advisor provides strategic leadership and technical guidance on GEDSI integration across programmes and activities.
The Advisor will work at the Asia Pacific level to support network level interventions that promote GEDSI integration into WWF’s people and nature mandate, including our work driving forward WWF Gender related policies and gendered commitments to international frameworks such as SDG, CBD, GBF, UNFCCC, National Adaptation Plans and others.
At the WWF-Laos National level, the Advisor supports the development of a GEDSI strategy and its integration into the country strategy as well as the practical application of GEDSI integration, through day to day operations and analysis of existing programmes and services, to support capacity of program teams, partners, and government counterparts in gender equity and social inclusion tools, strategies, policies and practices
Requirement:
- Post Graduated Degree or equivalent in gender studies, community development, conservation management, advocacy and organisation development, capacity building with an international development focus, or related field.
- At least 6 years experience in working on Gender Equity, Disability and Social Inclusion activities and Inclusive Conservation
- Experience in developing and implementing international public sector partnership projects
- Good understanding of CSOs networks in the Asia Pacific region
- Strong experience in capacity building
- Demonstrated coordination skills
