Programme Philosophy: BORDA's objective is the improvement of living conditions and social structures of underprivileged and disadvantaged people through the promotion of environment-friendly means of basic-needs oriented technologies based on the utilisation of renewable energies. BORDA is of the conviction that dissemination of environmentally-friendly technologies should be embedded as an integral part in a framework of awareness-creation and promotion of self-help capacity, in order to safeguard acceptance and sustainability of measures pertinent to development. BORDA emphasises networking and interrelations among its projects in order to optimise sustainability and efficiency of region-specific project measures. BORDA promotes the exchange of experience by South-South Transfer.
