country’s most remote and deprived areas to strengthen their capacity to reduce poverty.

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="EN-GB">About the TRVC project and GEDSI<o:p></o:p></span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB">Funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the project “Transforming the rice value chain for climate resilient and sustainable development in the Mekong delta (TRVC)” is implemented by the
Netherlands Development Organization SNV in 3 provinces of An Giang, Dong Thap and Kien Giang. Using Pay-for-Results (PfRs) mechanism, TRVC Project incentivizes and attracts the participation of private enterprises in the Rice Value Chain, aiming to scale-up
innovative technologies to achieve higher economic outcomes for smallholder farmers (SHFs) and all Rice Value Chain (RVC) actors, improve rice quality and inclusive social values while reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and mitigating environmental footprints
as co-benefits. The project aims to promote gender equality and social inclusion, particularly among women and people with disabilities, enabling them to participate in and benefit from the rice value chain. As a result, participating companies in the rice
value chain (RVC) are required to develop action plans addressing gender equality, disabilities, and social inclusion (GEDSI) within their production and business activities. They must also meet the GEDSI criteria before being eligible to receive seasonal
prizes at the end of the cropping season, based on the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions achieved by the company.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB">At the end of Season 1, all competitors successfully integrated GEDSI practices and policies, passing the GEDSI threshold level set by the project. The competitors have made substantial efforts to promote gender equality
and social inclusion, fostering an equal and inclusive work environment as well as providing inclusive rice market linkages with farmers through effective company policies and practical actions. For example, premium price for women-led households or households
with PwDs.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB">With the efforts of the TRVC project, Project Management Units (PMUs), the Women’s Union, and the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs in An Giang and Dong Thap, a coordination program which include TOR and
budget for GEDSI activities under TRVC in these provinces was signed in December 2024. The program aims to enhance collaboration among agencies to raise awareness about rice production activities and promote equality and social inclusion within the sector.
It focuses on creating opportunities for women and persons with disabilities to actively participate in and benefit from rice production. Additionally, the program seeks to increase awareness and build capacity among companies and other stakeholders regarding
the involvement of women, and the importance of gender equality, disability inclusion, and social integration in rice production activities.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB">By early 2025, TRVC project completed the implementation of the second of six seasonal rice crops with the participation of 10 rice value chain companies which are known as competitors in the three project provinces.
Together with the targets to reduce GHG emission and ensuring economical profits for small householder farmers participating in the project, TRVC provides technical support to guide and promote enterprises to develop policies and implement gender equality,
disability and social inclusion practices integrated into the rice value chain. The results of these activities are assessed using the GEDSI criteria with evidence based through means of verification. The results of GEDSI implementation through each crop will
be monitored, analysed compiled into a GEDSI assessment report for each crop. <o:p>
</o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB">In this regard, SNV is seeking for 01 consultant expert on gender equality and 01 consultant expert on disability and social inclusion to provide technical support for participating companies in achieving GEDSI outcomes.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB">Under overall supervision of the Agrifood Sector Lead and the direct supervision of the TRVC Team Leader and in close coordination with the project team, these consultants will provide backstop to the consistent implementation
of GEDSI related activities across all participating companies throughout the seasonal rice crops of the TRVC project.
