The GGP provides non-refundable financial assistance to NGOs, hospitals,
primary schools, and other nonprofit associations to support small-scale
development projects at the grassroots level that meet Basic Human Needs
(BHN), with a direct and lasting impact on the well-being of local
communities. The programme, under the management of the Embassy of Japan in
Hanoi, covers 23 provinces and cities in Northern and Central Vietnam (from
Gia Lai Province northwards). The Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh
City covers the rest of Vietnam.
