TERMS OF REFERENCE
Microfinance Officer
The Dariu Foundation (TDF) is a publicly recognized private foundation of
Swiss origin. Its mission is every households of low income accessible to
microfinance services for employment, income improvement, and realizing more
investment in their children's education.
At the present, the Dariu Foundation is implementing the programs of
micro-finance, scholarship and school-building in Dong Nai and Vinh Long
with considerable expansion, TDF in Vietnam is looking for a dynamic and
qualified Vietnamese to fill in the position of Program Officers -
Microfinance (TWO PERSONS).
Duty station: This position will be based in HCMC office with frequent
travel to project sites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Officers - Microfinance reports directly to the Team-leader
(and/or Director) and coordinates his/her activities with the rest of the
microfinance team. His/ her function includes but is not restricted to the
following duties:
1. Support the Director/Team-leader in developing effective
operation mechanisms within the microfinance program
2. Involve in monitoring, supervising all related activities of
the microfinance program
3. Conduct regular internal audits at branch level
4. Provide direct supervision of branch managers
5. Review the branches' regular reports, and prepare regular
reports at head office level
6. Review and consolidate accounting books of branches
7. Be responsible for supervision, recruitment and training of
branches' staff
8. Assist in market research, product development and searching
for new markets
9. Be able to provide trainings for both current and new staff on
microfinance-related subjects
10. Develop a good relationship with TDF sponsors, donors and local
partners.
11. Perform other tasks when/where required.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
. Master or University degree on finance, banking, accounting or economics
or relevant areas.
. At least three years of working experience in areas of
development/accounting/finance & banking
. Direct working experience in the area of microfinance (microcredit
projects) is a great advantage
. Demonstrated experience in or familiar with NGO environment
. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Tools
. Proved experience in trainings, research is an asset
. Demonstrated skills in working with colleagues and collaborators of
different cultural backgrounds
. The position demands a person with high integrity and transparency in
his/her working routines;
. Good command of English is an asset.
The Dariu Foundation is a fair employer and non-smoking environment. The

travel to the project sites; be prepared to work away from home during
missions to the project sites when requested; to be able to work as part of

living conditions.
