1. Introduction

The Avian and Pandemic Influenza Initiative (APII) is a three-year project
awarded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to
Abt Associates Inc. (Abt) and its partners in October 2009. The project
aims to build the capacity of the Government of Vietnam (GVN) and its
counterparts to identify, prevent and control avian influenza outbreaks in
both animals and humans. In addition to national level activities, the
project has been working in the five focus provinces: Can Tho, Ha Nam, Hung
Yen, Kien Giang, and Quang Tri.

In principle, knowledge management helps assure that knowledge and
information are shared by the right people at the right time so they can
make good decisions. In the office of APII, we expect to have a

office quickly find the knowledge they need and, in the process, save time
and avoid duplicating the efforts of others; and to make us aware of new

technical leadership to different working groups including BCC working

For this purpose, we need to hire a consultant who has expertise and
competency to fulfill the tasks as described below.

director to:

cataloguing

* Set up a APII library that is friendly used and retrievable

3. Activities required:

BCC cataloguing:

* Review the list of API BCC materials received electronically and in
hard copies

* Contact to BCC working group members to make a full list and
adequate copies

* Work with focal point person at PAHI to upload these API BCC on the
defined web site

APII library

* Arrange books for the office library

* Making index for books linked with a computerized program for easy
search

* Develop guidelines on how to use and maintain the library

4. Duration:

*	June 15 - September 30, 2010, mainly in APII office in Ha Noi

5. Deliverables

* A set of API BCC materials in electronic and hard copies filed

* API BCC electronic files uploaded on PAHI designed website
