[ingodirectors] Invitation to revive Working Group on Agriculture and Natural Resources

Dear colleagues, friends and partners:
(apologies for cross-posting)

We would like to invite you to express your interest in revitalizing the 
Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources Management Working 
Group(SANRM). This group operated under the auspices of the VUFO-NGO 
Resource Centre(NGORC) until September 2007; but did not meet since 
then. We tried to revivethe SANRM Working Groupin July 2010 and we 
received only two responses. This year NGORCreceived several inquiries 
about INGOs' collaboration in the agricultural sector; we were 
approached by different stakeholders who expressed interest to expand 
collaboration with INGOs. These stakeholders included the Asia 
Development Bank (ADB), the International Fund for Agricultural 
Development (IFAD) and the International Support Group (ISG) at the 
Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development (MARD).

Please express your interest to join the SANRMWorking Group by sending 
email to our Senior Working Groups' Coordinator Ms Phan Thu Ha at:

Depending on your responses NGORC will organize a preliminary meeting 
and invite representatives from other stakeholders. The SANRM Working 
Group will need a new Core Group and a new Chair to coordinate its work 
-- in order to facilitate collaboration between partners interested in 
improving livelihoods of the rural poor and better management of natural 
resources.

Currently there are 21 INGOs among the members of the NGORC that 
implement projects related to natural resources and agriculture. We 
believe that the revival of the SANRM Working Group would be a great 
opportunity for information exchange; sharing good practices; 
coordinating activities; and promoting policy dialogue with the 
Government of Vietnam, donor organisations and other local or 
international organisations. Please find enclosed a proposed TOR.
