Many of you might remember Miguel Coulier , who long time ago has been working with UNDP and playing an active and positive role in moderating coordination amongst GoV, UN, DMWG...

Currently Miguel is working with ICEM - International Centre for Environmental Management and this agency is interested in engaging with DMWG members as well as other DRM Practitioners to undertake a study on Landslide Risk Information System (LRIS) - please find the self-explanatory message below for your consideration and possible interest/engagement. Dear colleagues,

ICEM has been contracted by GIZ to conduct a Scoping Study on Landslide Risk Information Systems (LRIS) in Vietnam. The objective of this study is to analyze the current LRIS in Vietnam, review GIS, IT and technical capacities, identify gaps in data collection, sharing and processing as well as explore possibilities for improving the system and capacities in the medium and long term.

We are currently collecting data and recommendations from various stakeholders in Vietnam, including Government and non-Government experts. In this regard, we would like to speak with you and your colleagues about your work in DRM, early warning, and community-based DRR and EWS in Vietnam, to gather insights and best practices that can inform our feasibility study.
